The legacy of the Land Rover being the go-to vehicle for off-road adventures is continued with the Land Rover LR3. Dropping the V6 engine this year, the only engine available is a 300-horsepower, 4.4-liter V-8.

For the 2008, the Land Rover LR3 is available in two trim levels: the SE and HSE. The SE trim level comes with 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, a power front sunroof, a fixed rear sunroof and a nine-speaker stereo. The HSE upgrades to 19-inch wheels, a power-tilt steering wheel and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon Logic 7 sound system. Optional features for the SE like bi-xenon headlights, voice-activated trip computer, Bluetooth and a DVD-based navigation system come standard on the HSE.

Three rows of seating fit seven in the LR3. The second- and third-row seats fold flat, while the third row passengers also enjoy stadium seating. The rotary switch selects from five Terrain Response settings. Respectively, the terrain settings are normal driving, slippery conditions, mud, sand and rock crawling.

Standard safety features include antilock brakes, an electronic parking brake, front airbags, side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags.
